[Personality]:
Harry Flynn is in personality what he is in profession: a treasure hunter.

He is clever and resourceful, fit and agile, intelligent and good-natured. He is also calculating and ruthless, selfish and detached, mercenary and traitorous. Harry is not inherently good or evil, he is merely for sale.

Harry is clever and resourceful. Early on, when it's in his best interests to do so, he plays the fool. He claims ignorance about the fleet of Marco Polo and lets Drake think he is no threat. He seems oblivious to the restarted affair between Drake and Chole, whom he is also sleeping with, and their consequent plans to disappear together once they have the treasure of the fleet. In reality, he shows he has known for some time and even planned on it. After he and Drake part ways but are after the same thing, Harry knows enough to, when he's stuck, follow the work Drake has done to further his own work. It's even likely Flynn knew he wouldn't be able to work everything out on his own, as he does not kill Drake when he has the chance but, instead, gets him "out of the way for a little while."

Flynn is fit and agile. He is good at climbing, even if he tends to leave the hardest of it to Drake. Physically, he has remarkable endurance and is strong from years of heavy lifting and other strenuous activity associated with his profession. He is fast, has good balance, and knows how to fight.

Harry is intelligent and good-natured. He is well-read, able to translate 13th century Latin, and has an extensive knowledge about history. He is warm and affable when he goes to Drake for help, drinking and laughing with him while flattering his ego. When he can gain from it, he is charming and flirtateous.

Flynn is calculating and ruthless. He knows how to play Drake and get him to agree to the heist that begins the entire adventure. He also doesn't let on knowing about Drake and Chloe until it's too late for Drake to do anything. He leaves Nathan to the mercy of the Istanbul guards despite having earlier expressed a deep desire not to go to a Turkish prison, and, when Drake interferes again and Harry thinks he has all the pieces to find the legendary city of Shambala, later shoots him.

Harry is selfish and detached. While he can act friendly, Harry is really only ever in anything for himself. When forced to choose between himself and someone else, he invariably chooses himself. Even when he reminds his employer, Lazarovich, of their agreement that Chloe would not be killed when Drake is captured, it is only because he wants her for himself, not out of any desire to truly help her. He views his betrayal of Drake as something that happens, and he even tells Drake, when confronted about it, that he "learned from the best," implying that either he considered Drake and Chloe planning to run away together after Turkey a betrayal or that their history isn't as affable as they made it sound. Even when Lazarovich has turned on Harry and shot him, leaving him with a grenade without its pin, Harry does not get rid of the grenade or make any attempt to repent. Instead, he finds Drake and the two women with him and lets the grenade detonate in his hand, possibly trying to take all of them out with him.

Flynn is mercenary and traitorous. Flynn makes no secret about why he began working for Lazarovitch. The man is willing to pay a lot of money for what he's asking. Whether Flynn's service is always just for the money or if fear of the brutal war criminal influences him as well is never clarified, though it seems likely a combination of both is what keeps Flynn loyal to his employer throughout the game. The man has the resources to collect priceless artifacts from Marco Polo's journey -- he likely has the ability to hunt down fleeing treasure hunters. Flynn betrays Drake early in the game and uses Chloe as a bargaining chip during a later confrontation. Whatever is in his best interest, he will do it without regret.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:
Strengths:
Harry is an intelligent man who knows how to use the resources he has to his favor, whether those resources are money, books, weapons, or people. He knows when to let others shine and how to flatter egos to get himself ahead, and he takes slights against himself very lightly. His betrayals are fueled by practicality, not revenge. If he does not know the solution to a problem, he will get assistance from someone else, and he knows when not to betray someone -- usually when that would threaten his life. He is a strong, athletic man who is extremely agile and very good at maneuvering in tight places and a good shot with a gun.

Weaknesses:
Harry is driven by mercenary goals. All of his ambitions come back to money, and he values no one as highly as himself. If he profits from it, he’s in. Unfortunately, this means that he lacks any personal loyalties. Friends don’t exist in his world, only partners for a job… and those are expendable. While he shows the ability to reason out much of what Drake does -- he is rarely more than two steps behind him -- he is not nearly as quick or efficient a problem-solver as Drake. This means he can profit off Drake’s work, but it also means he’s always just behind him. While Harry is very athletic, he is also an ordinary human, making him very susceptible to injury and illness.

So, we’re after a shattered wish-fulfilling stone, are we? Well, part of that sure sounds familiar.

[Talking to a book, talking to a laptop or cellphone. All the same to him. It’s weird, but… What about this isn’t? So, Harry will do what he does best. Adapt.]

Now. Here’s the million-dollar question. Or more, maybe.

Is that the only treasure here? Or might there just be something in all these little islands? I think it merits looking into, don’t you lot?

[And hunt for treasure.]
